With over two decades of experience in martial arts, Edward’s journey is a testament to discipline, perseverance, and a deep respect for the traditions of combat sports.
Edward’s love for martial arts began at the age of 7 when he first stepped onto the Judo mat. Over the years, he honed his skills, earning his black belt in Judo and developing a profound understanding of the art’s principles of balance, leverage, and respect. His dedication to martial arts didn’t stop there – he expanded his expertise into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he also achieved the prestigious rank of black belt. This dual mastery of Judo and BJJ has given Edward a unique perspective on grappling, blending the explosive throws of Judo with the intricate ground techniques of BJJ.
In pursuit of deeper knowledge and cultural immersion, Edward spent several years living and training in Siping, Northern China. This experience not only enriched his technical skills but also deepened his appreciation for the philosophies and traditions that underpin martial arts. Training in China allowed Edward to connect with a global community of practitioners and further refine his teaching methods.
Today, Edward channels his expertise and passion into running Bow and Arrow BJJ Academy, a thriving martial arts school that emphasizes technical excellence, personal growth, and a supportive community. His teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that martial arts are not just about physical prowess but also about building character, resilience, and confidence. He's the author of the Cannon of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
